Howzit! I was born in Durban (South Africa), where I have lived most of my life. I have been in the travel industry for over 10 years where I worked for one of the largest Inbound Tour operators in Southern Africa. In 2006, I moved to the US where I am now working for Swain Tours.
There are so many amazing countries in various parts of the world and traveling to these countries to experience what each place has to offer is a passion of mine, because no experience is ever the same. If you love history and ancient cultures, then you can find this in many cities in Asia, Jordan and Egypt.
To experience ancient temples or the Great Pyramids of Giza is just fascinating, not to mention the many unique experiences, such as receiving a monks blessing in Chiang Mai, Thailand or visiting a hill tribe in Chiang Rai, Thailand!
Another reason to travel is see the beautiful landscapes and beaches, sailing down the Nile looking at the very same scenery that the ancient Egyptians saw many thousands of years ago, or lazing on an un-spoiled tropical beach on an island in the Indian Ocean.
Nothing beats a safari and what better place to experience wildlife than Southern and East Africa; these magical places are created by a beautiful balance between wildlife, landscapes and cultures which can give one an intriguing and humbling experience.
Finally, if you love food as much as I do, then you won't want to miss out the amazing textures, flavors and aromas that accompany so many of the Asian dishes! One of my favorite being Dim Sum which includes several kinds of steamed or fried dumplings.
A lot of the Indian flavors can be found in South African food where curries are very popular, from a traditional Indian curry in Durban to a Cape Malay curry in Cape Town. Apart from traveling, I love getting to know people from different walks of life and learning about history and cultures.
